The 60th Netherlands Mathematical Congress (NMC) takes place on April 22-23, 2025 in Soesterberg. This landmark event, celebrating six decades of excellence in mathematics, is aimed at all mathematicians, from pure to applied, and from PhD student to chief technology officer, from high-school teacher to full professor. 4TU.AMI will organise one of the parallel sessions, showcasing excellent applied mathematics research.

AIM organises a parallel session on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. The speakers will be

  • Gaurav Rattan (UT), Graph-Theoretic Principles for Graph Learning Models
  • Jemima Tabeart (TU/e), Machine learning challenges and opportunities in variational data assimilation
  • Maximilian Engel (UvA), Characterizing Dynamic Stability of Stochastic Gradient Descent

Plenary lectures will be given by Benjamin Gess (Technische Universität Berlin and Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Science, Leipzig), Corina Tarnita (Princeton University) and Jacob Tsimerman (University of Toronto). During the NMC you can also attend other parallel sessions by the research clusters, Gravitation programmes and 4TU.AMI who will present the developments in their field. There will be many networking opportunities, you can participate in workshops, panel discussions, speed dates and presentations tailored for all levels! Don’t miss the 60th edition of the NMC!
